She abandoned her dog and wrote free on it. Kendra Stafford has given her version of the facts, but her explanations are unlikely to allay the excitement of the mishap experienced by the animal.

Last week, we were talking about this dog discovered alone in an Ohio park, Yoctangee Park, with markings on the body.

One could, indeed, read the expressions “free” and “good home only” respectively on the side and the head of the dog, a crossed Labrador Retriever which has been renamed Marvella since.

The owner of the dog, Kendra Stafford, tried to justify herself. She has, in fact, delivered her version of the facts to NBC4.

Stafford is facing charges of cruelty to animals, abandonment, and lack of license reiterated the fact that she had been forced by the owner of her home to separate from the animal.

She added, however, that if she intended to leave Marvella in the park, she wanted to leave a note on her cage, but she did not find any tape in her car to tape the message.

Kendra Stafford also said that, before deciding to abandon her, she contacted all Ross County shelters with so many refusals because, according to her, all structures were full.

Nevertheless, NBC4 wanted to verify his remarks and questioned the staff of the only county shelter, who told them that this person never called or visited them.

Kendra Stafford pleaded not guilty and has the firm intention of challenging the charges against her.

For Marvella, the future looks a lot brighter as she has been taken care of and cared for by the Ross County Humane Society team and joined her new family.
