Unfortunately, black cats and dogs are often not allowed a second chance if they pass through the hut. A South African photographer works against this discrimination by taking beautiful photos of refuge dogs waiting for adoption!

It may be in 2019, superstitions on cats and black dogs continue and stick to the skin of these poor animals who yet have a lot of love to give to their owners. Black-coated animals are adopted less often and have to live in shelters longer than animals of other colors.

Emma O’Brien, a canine photographer, has known about this issue for some time and wanted to do her part to help these animals in need. She has taken beautiful portraits of black dogs to help them find new families and shared them on her website and social media.

Sometimes breed, sometimes crossed, all the dogs in this series of photos have a certain charm. They sometimes have funny heads and have all stolen the heart of the photographer during the shooting.

These photos show what we already knew: black dogs, it’s too good! But that had the merit of being recalled.

In the end, Emma O’Brien’s efforts paid off: ALL the animals in these photos have since been adopted by loving families! And they were not chosen for their appearance, but for their personality. All’s well That ends well !
