Heart wants what it wants. Humans tend to attribute feelings of love to objects that touch a part of the human mind but can not render feelings of affection. With regard to pets, the story is quite different, especially with dogs that prove every time that they are indeed ” man’s best friends”.
In 2013, Kameroun Mares was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. To cheer her up, she decided to buy a puppy to keep her company while she was undergoing chemotherapy.
Her favorite dog was a handsome Siberian Husky. She names her new companion Semper Fidelis, which means “always faithful” in Latin.
On a very hectic day, she received a call from her roommate during a trip to California.
Her roommate informed her that her furry friend had disappeared. Kameroun immediately began her search for lost Semper Fidelis, posting information on all social media and contacting all animal shelters miles away.
Even after moving to California, she never gave up hope that her research would bear fruit one day.
